I already have very smart people on my staff.

This is one area that we agree with, you do have smart people on your staff. We find that many companies do not really encourage ideas for improvement. The company had some success in the past and they built systems and platforms in place to keep the status Quo.

The Status Quo; Is one of the biggest problems. Life outside that company is ever changing. If a company wants to change with the world then they can survive.

Here is an example. Newspaper and magazine companies are struggling, year after year. If they do not adapt to the new digital platform, then they would be out of business entirely.

There are still ways that they can grow, with the right, micro-niche markets.

The workers in the newspaper are very smart people, yet if they just stuck to just the paper product then they would not be in business for too much longer.
